Mera Peak Climbing
The Mera Peak Climbing Trek is an exhilarating adventure that combines trekking through Nepal’s beautiful Solu-Khumbu and Hinku regions with the thrill of summiting Mera Peak (6,476m / 21,247ft), the highest trekking peak in Nepal. This trek is ideal for trekkers looking to experience glacier climbing, panoramic Himalayan views, and authentic Sherpa culture without the technical difficulties of higher mountaineering expeditions.
From the scenic flight to Lukla, you’ll trek through the Khumbu Valley, passing through vibrant Sherpa villages, rhododendron forests, and high-altitude landscapes before reaching the base camp of Mera Peak. The summit day offers one of the most breathtaking views of the five highest mountains on Earth: Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, and Kangchenjunga.
The journey begins with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, where you meet your trekking team and start your ascent into the Khumbu region. The trail passes Sherpa villages, suspension bridges, and alpine forests as you gradually acclimatize to higher altitudes.
After several days of trekking, you reach Mera Base Camp, the starting point for your climb. The climb itself requires basic mountaineering techniques such as rope use, crampon walking, and glacier travel, which will be taught by certified guides before the summit attempt.
The summit day is challenging but immensely rewarding, offering panoramic views of the world’s highest peaks. After descending safely to base camp, you trek back to Lukla and fly to Kathmandu, completing a life-changing Himalayan adventure.
Upon arrival at Kathmandu's international airport, a “We Trek & Expeditions” representative will greet you and transfer you to your hotel in Boudhanath, a peaceful area known for its iconic stupa.
After check-in, you can rest or explore the area, depending on your arrival time. In the evening, there will be a briefing session about the trek.
You’ll also enjoy a “Welcome Dinner” with the guide and all participants. Depending on each participant's arrival time, the "Welcome Dinner" may be changed to a "Farewell Dinner" on the last day.
Transportation: Private Tourist Vehicle, Accom.: Hotel, Sleeping Elevation: 1400M
Your adventure truly begins today. After an early breakfast (or packed breakfast, depending on flight time), we head to the airport for our scenic flight to Lukla, a gateway to the Everest region. The short but thrilling flight offers incredible views of the Himalayan range and drops us into the heart of the mountains at Tenzing Hillary Airport, one of the world’s most dramatic airstrips.
Important Note: Occasionally, due to air traffic regulations or weather conditions, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal may reroute all Lukla flights from Kathmandu to Ramechhap Airport (approx. 4–5 hours drive from Kathmandu). In this case, we will leave your hotel in Kathmandu around 3:00 AM and have breakfast on the way before boarding the flight from Ramechhap.
Upon landing in Lukla, you’ll meet your porter and trekking crew. After some time to organize gear, we begin our trek with a gentle downhill walk along the Dudh Koshi River, passing small Sherpa villages, prayer stones, and suspension bridges.
Our destination today is Phakding, a peaceful village nestled along the riverside. After checking into a local teahouse, you can rest or explore the area before enjoying a warm dinner.
